New Research
Antonoplis & Fischer (2026, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin) examined how Americans met their different-race (vs. same-race) contacts, the roles different-race contacts occupied in their networks (e.g., friends, co-workers), and the psychological content and quality of their relationships with different-race contacts.
Antonoplis et al. (2026, Psychological Science) found that the 2008 Great Recession led Americans to identify as, on average, a lower social class (e.g., from middle to working class).
